Sensitive Species Restoration

Greening Associates scientists have extensive working knowledge of sensitive plant and animal species – those that are rare, threatened, or endangered and thus protected by law. We are

  • skilled in sensitive species identification, life histories, and habitat requirements
  • knowledgeable of applicable local, state, and federal regulations
  • experienced in working with property owners and regulators to address project goals and regulatory concerns.

We have successfully restored habitat for a number of special-status plant and animal species:

  • Ben Lomond Spineflower (Chorizanthe pungens var. hartwegiana)
  • Ben Lomond Wallflower (Erysimum teretifolium)
  • Black Legless Lizard (Anniella pulchra nigra)
  • California Red-legged Frog (Rana draytonii)
  • Mt. Hermon June Beetle (Polyphylla barbata)
  • Silver-leaf Manzanita (Arctostaphylos silvicola)
  • Smith’s Blue Butterfly (Euphilotes enoptes smithi)
  • Zayante Band-winged Grasshopper (Trimerotropis infantilis)
